Albie is opened an art exhibition by artist Simon Prichard. The exhibition is called "Scouse Beat Volume 2" and is the second in the series so far. Albie opened Volume 1 last year which was a great success. The paintings on show are all works by the artist Simon Prichard and they feature paintings of all the great stars from the 50s and 60s music scene including of course Billy Fury. The exhibition opens on Tuesday the 8th of October and runs until Friday the 29th of October. The opening times are Monday to Friday 12 till 4 p.m. at The Liverpool Academy Of Arts 36 Feel Street Liverpool L14 4BE. The exhibition was a great hit last year hence the need for Volume 2 get along there if you can as it is well worth a visit.
This years event was well attended and Albie was presented with a portrait by Simon of his early days in Jason Eddie mode....... Albie made a short speech thanking people for coming and saying how much he admired Simons work and obvious talent. Plenty of people purchased paintings of various rock 'n roll and pop icon's from the fifties and sixties. Liverpool is a vibrant City and Simon's paintings fit nicely in that groove. If you missed it you may have the chance again next year, when I'm sure there will be a volume 3 keep checking the news page for dates e.t.c.
